Right to Life of Southwest Indiana Oratory Scholarship - $500 - $1,000 Students must be a high school junior or senior as of February 1, 2018. Contestants are to research, write and present an original pro-life speech. This year's theme is: "I Was Born To..." The following specific issues can be addressed: abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, or stem cell research. The speech is to be 5-7 minutes in length. Props are not allowed. Greater Evansville USBCA Scholarship - $1,000 Applicants must have been members of the Greater Evansville USBCA for two of the past four years, or their children, who have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and attend high school in Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties. Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Association - $2,000 Graduating seniors or graduates of any high school located in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties who are planning full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 2.65 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) or equivalent and be planning to major in horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture or a major that has primary focus in horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture. Past recipients of the scholarship may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed. Jay Lampton Memorial Scholarship - $500 Graduating seniors of any high school served by the Community Foundation Alliance with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and who have been enrolled in technology courses during his or her high school education. Newburgh Girls Softball Scholarship Program - $500 Eligibility Requirements 1. Applicant must be a female graduating senior and have been involved with Newburgh Girls Softball for at least four years. Involvement may include players, umpires, coaches and volunteers. 2. Applicant must include a summary of her extra curricular activities and honors. 3. Applicants must complete a 250-500 word essay on lessons she learned through her involvement with Newburgh Girls Softball and how those lessons will help her in the future. 4. Applicant must include a letter of recommendation from one of the following: a. High School Teacher or Counselor b. High School Coach c. Current or Former NGS Coach d. ETFCU Ted Hitch Scholarship Program - $5,000 To qualify for this scholarship, seniors must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 at the end of the fall semester. The instructions state that applicants should submit an essay, two letters of reference, a copy of their FAFSA Student Aid Report, and the application form to their school counselors who will then complete the school section of the application and return all documents along with a transcript to ETFCU. Crane Credit Union Scholarship Program - $1,000 All high school seniors who are members in good standing as the primary member on the account of CCU as of March 1 are eligible to apply. American Society for Quality Evansville-Owensboro Section Scholarship - $500 Recipient must be a graduate during the application year from a home school, an accredited high school or learning facility within the geographic area served by ASQ Evansville-Owensboro Section 0915 or either of whose parents are members of the ASQ Evansville-Owensboro Section 0915. The scholarship will be awarded to the person selected by the selection committee, independent of any connection with ASQ membership. Evansville Home Economists Scholarship - $250 per year The Evansville Home Economists will present a scholarship to an outstanding senior student who plans to pursue a career in a field of Home Economics / Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS).
