Just a friendly reminder that anyone who expects to qualify for a pay lane change during the 2012-13 school year MUST submit a letter of notification to the Human Resources office no later than June 1, 2012, in order to qualify.  Contract language below:

"All adjustments to salary to which a teacher shall become entitled as a result of additional training shall be effective at the beginning of the payroll period succeeding the date of completion of the course, provided the teacher had notified the Superintendent or his designee, in writing prior to the preceding June I, of his intention to complete the additional training."

Teachers and administrators whose licenses expire prior to the start of the next school year should renew as soon as possible to avoid the summer rush. It is not necessary to wait until the current license expires to renew.  There is no benefit to delaying renewal up to the expiration date. 

If your license does not expire until after the 2012-13 school year begins, you may wait until then to renew, in order to get the maximum amount of validity time out of your license.  A license that is valid at the beginning of the school year remains valid for the entire school year, regardless of expiration date. 

You MUST have a valid license by the beginning of the school year in order to receive a contract.  All licenses are renewed on line.  You must have an active profile on the State's LVIS website in order to apply.  Help and training information on how to renew can be found on ERO.

The Warrick County School Corporation received a $20,000 grant from the Alcoa Foundation for a Mathematics Instruction Enhancement Program.  Math kits were purchased for each Kindergarten and first grade classroom.  Grant funds were also used to allow teachers time to collaborate and plan hands-on math activities.  Thanks Alcoa!

Reminder:  Student immunization records are required.  Parents should submit student immunization records to the school or contact the school nurse to confirm pending immunization appointments.

Dropping off items: Please keep this to a minimum; however if you do need to drop off something for your child please have their name on the item or in a bag with their name on it.
Riding Home with Friends: Bus notes must be signed by the office before 1:00. We do not need a note from the host’s parents. Only the guest rider.
