A Little Bit About Us
Loge Elementary is located on a 25-acre site on Boonville's northeast side. The school serves 455 students in grades K-5. There are 35 teachers and 38 support staff members on the faculty.
A Brief History...
The school was originally constructed in 1975. Additions to the building were made in 1994 and 2005 and a total remodeling of the existing structure was completed in 2006. The one-story building is made of concrete block with a brick veneer exterior. The main portion of the building is rectangular with two wings extending to the north. The interior of the building contains 36 general purpose classrooms.
All of these rooms are located along four doubled-loaded corridors. In addition to the regular K-5 classrooms, the school contains a computer lab, four mobile computer labs, two development pre-school rooms, two developmental kindergarten rooms, Life Skills room, three special education Resource classrooms, two Title 1 rooms, speech room, nurse's station, kitchen, cafeteria, gymnasium, library, work room, lounge, conference room and administrative office area.
All areas of the building are air-conditioned and carpeted. TV/ DVD players and internet access is available in each classroom. A 400 meter asphalt track encircles a football field, softball diamond, and large playground area. Parking is provided in front of the school, and to the south of the school in two different locations.
The instruction is presented with a variety of programs, procedures, equipment, and technology to provide for individual needs. Team teaching, cooperative learning, whole language, Acuity, Read 180, DIBELS Next, Tucker signing, 4-Frame Math, Barton Reading, thematic units, touch math, Accelerated Reader, a 34-station computer lab, and four mobile computer labs help supplement the local and state curriculum in an effort to meet the needs of regular education students as well as inclusion and special needs students. An afternoon daycare program is provided via the Y.M.C.A. for working parents.
