Early Childhood Screenings 2022-2023

Early Childhood Screening

State and federal law requires local school districts to provide a screening process for preschool children ages 3-5 (who are not attending kindergarten).  The purpose of the screening is to help identify any child who may be in need of early special education services so that an intervention program can be developed if needed.  This could include students with delays in communication, motor skills, adaptive, social, or conceptual development.

While the Warrick County School Corporation tries to raise awareness about the screening with all parents of preschool-aged children, it is NOT necessary for all children to attend.  It is up to the parents to decide if their child may need this developmental screening due to concerns about potential developmental delays.
